International Adoption is a very complicated and at
the same time is a very rewarding process. Thousands and thousands
families adopt every year from overseas. Orphans Adoption is proud
to be part of this exciting process and making some ground braking
changes in the way it’s done. Our agency solely focuses on the
family and its needs rather then simply on the paperwork alone like
many other agencies do. We stay close to our families through the
whole process of international adoption from start to very end.
From your fist phone call or email to Orphans Adoption you will be
working with a live person and will be able to talk on the phone
with a live person whenever you needed in order to resolve any
obstacles or confusions (we are not supporting automated phone
services, and if you call us during business hours there always be
a live person answering your phone on the other side with the
greeting from Orphans Adoption).

After closing in 2001, the Moldova adoption program has reopened, however
changes in procedures announced in March 2005 will most likely result in delays.
In 2003, U.S. citizens adopted approximately 12 children from Moldova. Children
available for adoption include boys and girls, ages 1-8 years, sibling groups,
and children with special needs. These children reside in orphanages.
Travel required: Two trips, only one parent (if married) must travel; each trip lasts about one week
Singles accepted: Yes
Other: Applications from unmarried couples are not accepted; Visa processing is done in Bucharest, Romania

Most people starting out on the road to international adoption usually find that one country becomes more appealing than the others. It may be that your best friend in college was from China, or your family may have distant East European roots, or maybe you traveled to Asia as a child. In the end, many adoptive parents will say, “Country X just called to us. We knew in our hearts that it was the right choice for us.” Even though you may feel like you are miles away from making such a statement, you, too will get to this point – don’t worry! »read more

Dependency Exemption
Adoptive parents may take the same dependency exemption on their income taxes for their adopted children, and children placed with them for adoption but not yet finalized, as they would for their biological children. The exemption reduces their taxable income. The amount of the dependent exemption is adjusted annually to reflect the cost of living. The main point to remember is that families must provide more than half of their children's support to list them as exemptions. Some adopted children come with subsidies, which may provide more than half of their support. For example: if a child receives $5,000 a year in subsidies, the adoptive family must provide $5,001 or more a year to claim the child as an exemption. »read more
